If you are out visiting Bourgas watch out for a group of lads (gypsies) who are targeting tourists. As you pass they try to spray your shoes (even sandals) with some sort of cleaner. Even if you jump away and don't let them physically touch your shoe they try to get 20 lv out of you. Friends of ours were out for the day on their own and this happened. When they refused to pay they were surrounded by 4/5 lads which was intimidating and they handed over 10 lv. If we'd been with them we'd have chased the lads, shouted and made a fuss to attract attention from Bulgarians. They are not well liked by Bulgarians (to say the least) so would have backed off and moved on.
