Hi All
We will be visiting our apartment on Monday 11th June for 2 weeks. Can anyone tell me if it is better to change our money when we are over there??
What kind of exchange rate are you getting at the moment?
Cheers

Suggest you use "hole in the wall" - debit card. Saves you carrying too much cash.

Hi panorama71,
The best deal would be to take £ sterling with you and exchange it in a bank. This way you get the best possible exchange rate and there are several banks in Sunny Beach. Beware if you are carrying a large amount of cash and you are travelling on the local busses around Sunny Beach area, there are lots of pick-pockets on the local busses and they are excellent at their trade. Use the Fort Noks bus service and this way you remain safe from pick-pockets and travel in comfort. Have a great holiday. Are we distant relatives?
Cheers.

Hi Panorama71
We always take sterling and change in the bank, you get the best rate if you do that.Again be carefull of pick pockets!!!
I see that you are from Wigan, we are just a few miles away in Blackrod
Have you been to Bulgaria yet?

Does anyone know how much £'s to euros can be changed in a day at the bank. I'm signing for my Notary next wednesday and intend taking the money over in cash (Monday) about £540. I've e-mailed FortNoks and they say they can except £'s but offer an exchange rate of about 1.37 which does not seem too good!!!
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Last year I changed over £1000 in one visit to a bank so you shouldn't have a problem.

If you open a bank account ,in our case Bulbank you should get a better rate as an account holder for all your money transactions etc

Just checked with Bulbank and their exchange rate is 1.4727 Eur to Gbp, although you'll not get this rate as the banks will take there cut,but should beat the rate given by FN.

We've just got back from sunny beach and the best exchange rate we got was at the bank in St Vlas 2.81 levs= £1. we like most others find it best just taking stirling and changing the whole lot into levs when we arrive and bunging it into our safe.
