Hi all
Anyone else finding the legal representatives recommended by MRI to be totally incompetant at responding to an email (or ten!)?
Its no surprise if theyre MRI recommended as they probably learnt this trick the 'masters of silence' MRI themselves.
But im going out in 5 weeks and want to pay off my balance before i go so i can sign my deeds when out there so its all done and dusted.
If anyone has any contact details for them, itd be much appreciated.

Cheers

Tell me about it! I have basically lost my deposit due to the slack customer care of both Legal Indepence and Capital Financial Partners............ They replied to about 1 in 5 emails I sent and ignored any that proved too difficult for them to answer. They still haven't told me that Fort Noks have sold my apartmnet to another buyer and that was a month ago!

For your information. Both companies are owned by MRI!

Also, MRI have effectively stopped operating in Sunny Beach. They have closed their offices in the centre of Sunny each and most likely also in Bourgas. So would not rely on MRI for anything in Bulgaria. Find alternatives!!!

Hi,

When I signed my title deeds last year I was dealing with Teodor Y. Kebedjiev of legal indepence, and found him to be quite helpful. Also he responded to all of my emails within a few days. The telephone for legal independence is +00 359 56 85 94 44 and Teodors' email is teodor.kebedjiev@legal-independence.com.

Best of luck!

Noel

Hi

My wife and I are using Legal Independence for the purchase of our apartment after the first payment in 2006 we never heard anything from them again we thought this was normal, I e-mailed my contact recently with regards to a query about Bulgarian wills only to be told that she had relocated back to Spain, if it had not been for the query we would have never have known and hit all kinds of problems I'm sure with final payment in December.

Is this acceptable practice for Lawyers? :?

Hi,

I made these same arrangements last year. Happily there was no problems with this process. The reprsentative showed from legal independence showed up on time, and after paying all the remaining bills for the apartment, drove me to the notary's office where everything was signed. My only concerns at the moment is that my title deeds are still in the office of legal indpendence (mostly my choice). I hope to collect these myself when I am in Bulgaria this year. Also I paid to be registered for bulstat tax. I have no proof that this has been done. But I have no reason to doubt it either.

All the best,

Noel

I agree that Teodor was the best of those that I dealt with, however, my contact kept on changing so I couldn't just keep chasing one person. The same happened with Capital Finance........... typical that MRI own them. I thought they would be a good bet on the assumption that they have a lot of dealings with Fort Noks etc. Had I known that they were owned by MRI I would have gone independently.

Enigama, are you sure that MRI own them?? Just want to know before I have a go at them as well!

Is anyone else in my predicament whereby they have had their mortgage forfeited (First Independent Bank) and their deposit withheld??

I cannot guarantee that MRI own these companies, but no one independent would work with MRI if they knew of the shameful tactics employed by MRI.

I spoke to a UK based broker firm that deals with Bulgarian mortgages and as soon as I quoted MRI they guessed that I had used Legal Independence and Capital Finanacial Partners!

There couldn't be 100% certain but they also believed that MRI own these two companies.........
