water and electric

Has anyone else seen their bills ?
i think ours is ridiculously high considering its such a short season and compared to prices in Uk seems a lot for this length of time...

does any one else think the same ?

not seen any bills in 2 years but fort noks charge me 30 euro's a year just for the administration of the water bills.
i just dont get it, and they only charge this for one of my two apartments!
when i queried it they justs aid it was a flat admin fee, and the usage bills are on top.

i give up sometimes.

ive not paid it anyway.

if anyone else has an idea on how the electric & water bills work, id appreciate it!

fortnoks dont give u a bill when u want to pay your water or electric bill you take a reading and they work it out on the computer its not the right way to do it and they wonder why people are not happy with this process. i think fortnoks pay one bill at the end of the year to the water company and electric company and charge all apartment owners €30 its not the way to do things so i am not taking insurance out with them.

I have paid the 30 Euros + insurance & 5 Years Maintanance & have not yet collected the key

And the reason I have no key is that I would not pay 200 Euros they wanted for council Tax, They now want 257 Euros council Tax, so I guess I will never own my key, which is a shame as I just pasid the final instalment on my apartment.

Oh well.

garyjs - i dont think they can do that if you have not used the apartment in 2008. have you been over and signed the notary yet.

It states in my last invoice that I was to sign with the Notary by 31 Dec 08

We are going over in May 09 so hopefully that will be ok to sign then, by which time the council Tax debacle will be sorted

Its not the money but the principle

i turned everything off at the electric box above the door the main switch and i turned the water off at the meter when i left in 22nd july 08 i took meter readings. when i returned on 18th oct 08 the first thing i did before entering my apartment was check the electric meter there are 2 settings day rate and night rate. the night rate had gone up by 3kw they had not done any snagging jobs i asked at the office they could not give me an explanation. when i left on the 22nd oct 08 stella checked my meter readings wrote them down signed it and i payed the bill i also took photos when i go back in july i am expecting them readings to be the same unless they have done the jobs i left them. i now own the apartment outright so they better stay out.

robbo2310 - 83 levs is fantastic do you have a cooker or fridge and do you use the air-con i paid 34 levs for 18 days use. your first bill you also include the electric what was used by the contractors when they worked in your apartment

Hi all

I was over for a total of 5 weeks last year and during hot season we had showers a few times a day ever day, air con on almost constantly day and night and hot water for pots pans etc, during the colder season in Sept we had the air con on the heat setting almost all the time we where there and we have just paid our elecricity and water bill of 75 Leva = £35, I for one have no complaints when you consider the price you pay in England just to boil your kettle let alone have heating on to stay warm

If I could find some kind of employment over there I would certainly move as the cost of living has become too high here at home

the cost of living is much less over there, but if you were to find work over there you would be paid much less than you can earn in the UK. You wouldn't be any better off. infact, if you compare the cost of living with the average wage over there you would find that you would be much better to stay in the UK.

The only way to gain is to work in the UK but live in Bulgaria....might take you a while to get to work in a morning though.

we know how much water and electric is so you need to check your meters when you leave and arrive its easy to work the bill out but if you cant be bothered your playing a dangerous game.
