PIER MARINA VIEW

Postby jax11ard » Tue Jun 17, 2008 2:28 pm

I would like Fort Noks to explain why the small Pier at Marina View is being taken over by local Fishermen who park their cars on the perimeter of the complex and then walk along the far side of the fence to fish virtually all day and take over the pier. Surely the Pier was provided for residents to sit and enjoy the view and there is also theissue of security.

Richard,

I agree completely that this is causing a security issue as from the pier there is open access to all of the Grand Resort with the opening of the underpass.

However, I do not think that FN can do anything about the locals using the pier. The fence marks the perimeter of FN land so technically the pier is built on common ground. Whilst the land at the side of Marina is still undeveloped, I fear that this will always be a problem.

I have just returned from Panorama and I think that security seems more lapse than usual. I did not ever see anybody being stopped by security entering the complex and, although I never checked after dark, the gate to the beach was always wide open whenever I saw it.

Alison, you are probably right about the perimeter..it just annoyed me that every night last week I walked down to the pier and it was clogged with locals fishing, why did FN even bother building the pier and tiling down to it when it's just used by locals. The security side to me is a big issue..I walked in and out of all the complexes and was never challenged. The complex was a lot busier than last year as you must have noticed so security has to be an issue.

To be honest this was exactly the same last year, they kept using the pier, all day, and going to the shop on site, which did annoy my better half kev, .
My Inlaws came back a week ago, and my father in law was a bit disaapointed himself, has he was unable to go fishing there, has we have fishing rods etc, but he was unable to use them.

I agree it's annoying as the pier is supposed to be a facility of the complex, but is overrun by locals who do wander around the complex without being challenged.

Security is definitely an issue. The complex was the busiest I've ever seen and I think will just get busier and busier - it certainly seems very popular with Russians and Polish. Like Richard, I never had to use the magnetic card to gain entry or was questioned on any of the complexes. Although it must be quite difficult to monitor with so many apartments being rented, security does seem to be becoming very lax

Any response from Fortnox ??

We pay enough in community fees - surely security is part of this ?

I would like to see a reply from Fort Noks on this subject. I have in the past e-mailed them and no reply was forthcoming. The steps down to the pier are obviously tiled with "FortNoks tiles" (which gives some indication why the pier is there) and the view is magnificent from the pier but it seems that locals are just taking advantage of it. I appreciate that the land may not belong to FortNoks but if we, "the paying customers " were not there, then the pier also would not be there.

Dear all,

The pier at Marina View Fort Beach is not a private property, but a public facility. Fort Noks has built it, with the permit of the municipality in order to facilitate the owners in the apartments, but the land on which it is built is owned by the government, therefore the pier has to be open for use of everyone who wishes to use it. The people from the area go fishing there for years, and we believe they do not embarrass anyone.

Surely there is the issue of security though, being that anyone can gain access to the complex through the pier without anything to stop them?

Admin thanks for your reply. As I feel the local fishermen do not embarrass anyone, they do,as the previous reply states, compromise the security on site. The complex is supposed to be a secure site, this is not possible with locals walking along the perimeter fence with gives them access into the site. I appreciate that the land belongs to the Government but why build the Pier which is at times taken over by locals, I'm sure the pier was not there when the locals used the area previously, so let them fish but not from the pier.
As all the owners pay a maintainance fee for security etc I feel some action should be taken concerning this issue and making sure the site is again made secure.

I totally agree with the above. I have nothing against the fishermen, but I think It's unfair that it is now impossible as an owner, to use the pier. I expect we're paying for the maintenance of it!!

So I don't really think that FN have addressed the issue, The pier should NOT be used by local fishermen, It is a holiday complex , not a fishing area.
I have some issues with FN's and I think they should be listening to the people who are paying the money, not giving excuses for the locals. I'm sorry to gripe a little but at the end of the day I want my app't to be secure and safe. So FN please get on top of this issue please.

Hi all
I totally agree with all the issues raised, we returned last week from a great two weeks at Panorama but again this year we sometimes could not get on the pier due to the fishermen. One particular day one of the PANORAMA forms had been taken on to the pier and was being used whilst fishing. We walked down to the pier later on in the evening and we were disgusted at the amount of rubbish left. there were plastic bags stuffed into the cliff face, cigarette ends all over the floor and plastic bags tied around the railing. Another of the forms has been broken and couldnt be used.Fort Noks have to address these issues and not keep ignoring the owners who pay for a clean and secure site
