Bar / restaurant plans near Crown / Panorama?

Postby littlebush » Wed Jun 25, 2008 5:55 pm

Hi

Bit of a long shot but wondered if anyone has heard of any plans for some bars/restaurants to be built within walking distance to the Panorama/Crown complexes?

The reason i ask is that this is the main moan of my clients, that theres a lack of places to go in the evening in walking distance.

If I've missed something within walking distance then please let me know.

I presonally have no problem either walking into Vlas or getting the bus but it seems some people dont want to make the effort.

I know it all takes time and we can t have everything at once, but it seems theres a huge business opportunity going begging....hhhhmm, now theres a thought...

There's always Pacos at the back of Privilege which is walking distance.

I did hear a couple of years ago that there was a plan to build shopping/restaurant complex next to Crown (on right hand side if standing on road looking at Crown). How true it is I don't know, especially as 2 years later nothing's been done and it done come from lying Boris, but that would be quite handy.

Hi littlebush, I agree with everything that you say and don't you think that it's sad that we have to go off site to find a good place to eat and somewhere with a bit of atmosphere. We have 2 apartments on Panorama complex and we are not even bothering to holiday there this year. We will be spending our money elsewhere this year I'm afraid. We have had several family members that have stayed in our apts for free and that offer is open to them this year but they have all said the same "the place is dead and the bars/restaurants are totally sub standard" and they won't be going back. I'm afraid Fort Noks don't seem interested in raising the standards and until they do we will always have this problem. To be fair FN have built nice complexes but in reality they have no idea of how to find people to run a half decent bar and I won't even mention the food.
Cheers.

Thanks for replies. Its my biggest concern with renting out the apartments that people wont enjoy its full potential because of the lack of local bars/restaurants.

I dont find the food on site bad, but its not really a night out! its handy for snacks and thats about it.

However i do find the restaurants in general in bulgaria to provide fantastic food, but its a shame some people when theyre on holiday want to be spoon fed and arent prepared to wander into vlas or sunny beach.

I wonder who currently owns the land around Crown....will make some enquiries...

Anyone think theres anything we can do as owners to push FN to set something up - highly unlikely as theyre just into property development and thats it, but as i said before, someone must see a business opportunity there!

ps-not tried pacos yet but heard all about it.

An Irish Bar was included in the complex spec so disappointing as given the size of the complexes there is not more to do

Are there any beach bars open during the day and do the local hotels let you use their facilities ?

Unfortunately, the info provided on the spec is just a vision. FN do the building, but do not run bars/restaurants etc. If they cannot find people to open the facilities they will not be there.
It seems that we have a bit of a catch 22 - there's limited facilties at the moment so people are having to go off the complex for variety, but until the complexes are busier there is limited attraction for new businesses. Not sure how this is going to resolve itself.

Its not just the FN complex though - theres heaps of other complexes within walking distance, all be it, not as large as the Grand Resort but the people in these smaller complexes must be feeling the same.
Youre right it is a catch 22, but i reckon there must be enough people in this combined area to make a bar/restaurant a success.
Just have to wait and see i guess....

All a bit dismal - I'm wondering if I am ever going to see a return on this investment and indeed sell it even for the asking price!!
