We've always had a much better rate from the cash points. We also have a Nationwide card which doesn't charge any commission or bank charges.

When we went out end of June we had 2.17 from Holiday Hypermarket (!) but got a rate of 2.47 from the cash point at the Bank on St Vlas Square. So for £100 a difference of £30 ! Bank in Sunny Beach was 2.46. Annette

In June I got 2.350 in UK and when used my card in Sunny beach (Barclays) i had 2.405 (noticed on statement), so there is a benefit using your card, but there was a maximum of about 600Levs withdrawal per 24hrs.

Hope this helps

Not if its a Nationwide visa credit card you only pay the normal int. on cash withdrawals as in this country.

On Barclays Visa Debit Card just doubled checked and you pay about 1.8% on how much you withdraw and was the same for each withdrawal, for example withdraw 700Lev will charge you about £5, still the exchange rate is better than what you'll find locally in UK... guess its time to change to Nationwide...
